What is an eBook?
The eBooks
provided on this website are provided as a searchable PDF document (Acrobat
format Document) and so you can search
for
names, places and items many of which are not indexed in the normal
index. The Adobe™
Acrobat™
(.pdf) format requires the FREE Adobe™
Acrobat™
Reader .
Download and
installation instructions for the Adobe™
Acrobat™ Reader are on the Adobe™ website. This reader
allows
the
viewing and printing of the book. For a general
definition of an eBook see the Wikipedia entry on the
subject.
The eBooks are available on CD and as downloadable
files which you can download from lulu.com or from this shop at a discount.
If you order a CD then the HTML
and PDF files are directly accesible on
the CD.
The eBooks provided are a high quality (600dpi)
scanned copy of a printed document. This is then interpreted by
ABBYY
FineReader®
intelligent OCR
(Optical Character Recognition) and
PDF conversion
software.
No warranty is given about the
accuracy of
the copying. Due to the nature and style of printing in old documents
the text interpretation by optical scanning of the document
may not
be a precise interpretation of the written text. Users should refer to
the
scanned image to validate the interpretation of the material.
Here is a summary list of the downloadable books I have available on lulu.com.
